On Saturday, January 26, 2008 the Birmingham Chapter of Southern University Alumni Association held its twenty-six annual Mardi Gras Ball at the Exhibition Hall of the Boutwell Auditorium. Over $160,000 dollars has been given in scholarships to Birmingham Area students to attend Southern University. The reigning royal for this year's affair was - King Chris Coleman and Queen Sherea Harris. Music was provided by Private Property and the event was catered by LeRose. We drank, danced, and ate the night away - a great time was had by all.
